Greetings from Rotterdam, Jeffrey de Bruin

What you need to know

The first thing to know is: You don't need any drawing experience! I draw Rotterdam Delfshaven is suitable for every drawing level. I help you. I give advice and show you easy and more difficult options.

What we will do

In Historisch Delfshaven we walk about 2.5 kilometers. We sit and stand at various beautiful places to draw your own personal large "Greetings-from-Historisch-Delfshaven-postcard". Discover the city in a different way. Not just strolling around, but sitting (or standing) for a while to draw what you see. A relaxed experience in a lively city.

We start with a Polaroid of yours and place it in the middle of a sheet of A4 size paper. We draw typical items from Historisch Delfshaven around the Polaroid. We draw in a simple and fast way. I give advice for "Handlettering" (writing in a beautiful way).

Eventually you will have your own handmade "Greetings-from-Historisch-Delfshaven-postcard". You can take a picture of it for social media, post it or hang it up at home as a reminder of your afternoon drawing in Rotterdam.

Where the experience takes place

We visit beautiful places in a historic part of Rotterdam, at Historisch Delfshaven. There is room to sit and there are many elements to see for drawing. Most pitches have sun (if there is one) and shade.

Starting point I draw Rotterdam Delfshaven

  • We start at Café de Ooievaar on the Havenstraat 11B. This cafe is located near the intersection of the Schiedamseweg with the Lage Erfbrug.
  • The starting point is close to Delfshaven metro station and also close by parking garage "Nieuwe Binnenweg I".
  • You can leave your bicycle in the free bicycle sheds in front of the café.

“Nice to discover a few other places and to think about that! Because of the manual accompanying the drawing, the design of the drawing was similar for everyone, but you could compare it nicely with others. Nice experience to share and see what strikes you and what others notice.
” – Cox Janssens

Do you prefer to draw more modern architecture? I also give a tekentour bij de Binnenrotte, Rotterdam.
